Grovetoberfest Will Descend Upon Coconut Grove Offering Beer Samplings and Pairings in a Friendly Competition

This coming October 15th, beer enthusiasts from all over will converge at Peacock Park in Coconut Grove for Grovetoberfest – a festival that will allow guests to sample craft beer from around the world, take part in the Kitchen Lab for food/beer pairings, enjoy musical performances, vote for their favorite beer and utilize the free “Safe Ride Home” service should they sample more than they can handle.

Aficionados and the “casual beer fan” will take an active role in beer sampling by voting for their favorite beers in three categories – Domestic, Import and Wild Card. The Your Vote Counts competition will make it fun for all including the breweries that are eager to be the top craft beer of choice. The Kitchen Lab will be hosted by Chef Ralph Pagano, notable for his appearances on Iron Chef and Hell’s Kitchen in addition to being executive chef of STK at the Gansevoort on Miami Beach. This year’s Homebrew Pavilion will be presented by Brew Box Miami, a leader in home brewing. Their staff will showcase different home brews, provide live brewing demos throughout the day and sample dozens of home-crafted beer made by individuals and teams.

Event organizers of the festival have even taken non-beer drinkers into consideration. The Designated Driver program will offer one person, per group of three and more, complimentary access to the event, food vouchers and a free t-shirt that reads “It’s OK to go home with me – I’m a designated driver”. Needless to say, those who overdo it and don’t have a designated driver won’t have to worry about driving. Grovetoberfest will offer a free ride via their Safe Ride Home program. All bases have been covered at this event, including entertainment, which will feature the wildly popular Spam Allstars.

Grovetoberfest will take place between 3:00-7:00 PM on October 15, 2011 at Peacock Park in Coconut Grove located at 2820 McFarlane Road. Tickets range between $29 pre-purchased, $39 at the gate and $89 for VIP tickets, which offers early admittance, access to the VIP Lounge, complimentary food, no lines, a commemorative beer glass and other VIP entitlements.
